Medina takes next steps toward uptown loop multi-purpose path

MEDINA, Ohio – For the last few years, the city has been planning for the installation of a multi-purpose path in Medina’s uptown district and council has agreed to move forward with advertising, bidding and awarding the project.

City Engineer Patrick Patton said the Uptown Loop Multi-Purpose Path will consist of installing a 10-foot wide multi-purpose path on the east side of South Broadway Street from East Smith Road moving north to East Friendship Street. The work will also include new ADA concrete curb ramps at several intersections.

Patton said during a May 11 finance committee meeting that the total estimated cost of the project is $417,000 but the city received a $396,000 grant from the State of Ohio Office of Budget and Management which will fund the majority of the project…
