Woman wounded during mass shooting at Airbnb party in Bath sues

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A woman wounded during a mass shooting at an Airbnb party last fall is suing the property owner and rental app.

Brooklyn Diener of Akron filed a lawsuit in April saying property owner Shauna Gardner and Airbnb are liable because they allowed the house to be listed on the app in Bath Township, which does not allow short-term rentals. The suit also lists the party organizers, referred to only as John and Jane Doe, as defendants in the case.

On Nov. 2, police said several people opened fire at a house party at 933 Top of the Hill Drive, killing Elijah Wells, 18, of Akron and wounding eight others…
