Bethlehem Central announces principal swap for 2026-2027

DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10)– In an ongoing effort to strengthen connections between the schools in the Bethlehem Central School District, the Elsmere and Slingerlands Elementary Schools will be shifting principals in the 2026-2027 school year.

According to the district, Andrew Baker will assume the principal position at Elsmere, and Kate Kloss will take over the Slingerlands role.

“Both Andy Baker and Kate Kloss are longtime educators who bring experience and unique talents to the role of principal. Their complementary styles of leadership will serve both schools well,” Superintendent Jody Monroe said.

According to the district, Baker has been the principal of Slingerlands since 2021 but served as the interim principal at Elsmere in 2017 and 2018. Kloss has been leading the Slingerlands building since 2003 and is the longest-tenured building leader in the district.
