GUILDERLAND — By early 2027, the McKownville Fire District expects to complete the construction of its new firehouse at 1250 Western Ave. in Guilderland.
The fire district has provided volunteer fire protection and emergency response services to the McKownville community for more than a century, according to its website. The deterioration of its old station, along with “the need to provide a safer, cleaner environment” for its volunteers, prompted the construction of a new firehouse, said James D. White, chairman of the McKownville Fire District.
