ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Two people were injured on Friday following an alleged robbery on South Pearl Street in Albany, according to the Albany Police Department. No arrests have yet been reported.

Authorities said an 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man had walked into the police department’s South Station lobby at about 7 p.m. The two reportedly told officials that a robbery had occurred in the area of South Pearl Street and South Ferry Street.
An investigation found that the victims were approached in the area by two men who then allegedly stole one of the victim’s cellphones. The 18-year-old was slashed in the arm with a knife and the 19-year-old was punched in the face before the suspects fled the scene, police said.

According to authorities, at least one of the two suspects knew one of the victims. Police also reportedly determined that the incident was not random.
