Churchill: The bus station was a sure thing, until it suddenly wasn’t

ALBANY — Well, you can put a fork in the plan for a bus station in the old McDonald’s at South Pearl Street and Madison Avenue. It’s more cooked than a Big Mac.

You wouldn’t have known that at noon on Thursday. Then, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy was still pushing the plan for an intercity bus terminal despite virulent opposition from many neighbors, including residents of the nearby South Mall Towers, and Dannielle Hille, the county legislator who represents them.
