One man in recovery we spoke with tried kratom after using opioids because it was so easily accessible. When he stopped taking that, he says the withdrawal was intense.

“Body aches, like my whole entire body, I could not move. My whole body was sore. I could not sleep, hot flashes, sweating, cold, very painful,” he said. “To me, it was worse than when I withdrew from opioids, yes.”
