Schenectady ‘swiftly’ addressing assistant principal’s mocking graduation photo

SCHENECTADY — As Schenectady High School graduates triumphantly marched across the stage last week, one school administrator allegedly singled out a graduate in a way that has prompted a district response.

Witnesses say Assistant Principal Sara Straub snapped a photo of a graduate wearing an ankle monitor and shared it in a group text message they could clearly see. The witnesses, who are not being named because they fear retaliation from the district, said they watched as members of the chat responded to the text with mocking comments and emojis.
