COLONIE — The northbound lanes of the Northway have reopened Thursday after being closed following a crash on the Twin Bridges.
The state Department of Transportation reported the closure of the bridge at 12:16 p.m. As of 3 p.m., all lanes appeared to be open, though traffic was still backed up.
Surface streets in the area, including parts of Route 9 in Colonie, were filling with vehicles trying to get off the highway Thursday afternoon, with traffic problems unfolding as early travelers for the Fourth of July weekend head north for the start of racing in Saratoga Race Course and vacations in the Adirondack Mountains…
