ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Emergency crews responded to French’s Hollow for a rescue. According to the Guilderland Police Department, a man fell off one of the cliffs in the area.

Authorities had to implement a rescue plan to safely extricate the man in the tricky terrain. He was safely rescued and sustained minor injuries, according to Guilderland police.
On the scene, NEWS10 spoke with a bystander who jumped in to help the victim. William Sayler said after the victim’s brother and sister came up to him screaming that he was injured from falling off the cliff, he sprung into action.
“I just dropped everything, took off my boots and my shirt and went swimming and climbed up the falls,” Sayler said. “There was a couple people standing around him and I went off into the woods, grabbed a stick and some cattails and made a make-shift splint out of it so he wouldn’t move his leg around and hurt it anymore.”…
