Police: Albany teen brought gun into Crossgates Mall

GUILDERLAND — An Albany teen faces felony charges after allegedly bringing a gun into Crossgates Mall.

Mall security notified police about a reported theft around 7:50 p.m. Thursday. An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old were identified as suspects, according to a news release from the Guilderland Police Department.

Police found the teens inside the mall. An officer allegedly saw a handgun tucked into the 18-year-old’s waistband, Guilderland police said. As police moved to arrest the teens, the 18-year-old ran away on foot and the 17-year-old “attempted to interfere” with officers’ pursuit, police said…
