Albany airport continues air conditioning repairs after storms

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The facilities team at Albany International Airport has spent the week working to keep the building cool. Officials said severe thunderstorms impacted components of the airport’s air conditioning system.

While several repairs have been completed, the airport said the facilities team is continuing to work on remaining repairs and system adjustments. Some of the repairs require replacement parts.

In the areas that have been fixed, airport officials said temperatures in the terminal have improved. They also said that during prolonged periods of extreme heat, it can take an extended period of time for the facility to fully cool down after equipment is brought back online.

The airport offered its thanks for the patience of employees and passengers, telling NEWS10 in a statement: “We appreciate the patience of our passengers, employees and airport partners as this work continues, and we recognize the added discomfort this has caused during an especially hot stretch of weather.”…
