ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– On Tuesday, a New Jersey man was sentenced to prison for reportedly hitting a federal agent with his car during a traffic stop. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ruben Dario Loja Castro, 33, was sentenced to a year in prison after admitting to the assault.

Prosecutors said on October 1, 2025, agents with Homeland Security were attempting to locate a man accused of raping a minor in Albany, when they saw the person enter Loja Castro’s car. When attempting to pull over the ar on I-90, Loja Castro reportedly put the car in gear and hit the law enforcement cars back and forth before swerving into an agent.
Officials said the agent jumped out of the way to avoid being hit but was injured in doing so.
Loja Castro was reported arrested later that day…
