As part of his plea, Bova admitted to throwing a hammer at a man on Breslin Avenue in Cohoes on August 15, 2025, striking the person in the face. The victim, who investigators determined was intervening in a dispute between Bova and a woman on Ontario Street, was hospitalized with serious injuries following the incident.

Bova was later taken into custody by Cohoes Police. Set to receive four years in prison for the assault, Bova was then found guilty of attacking another incarcerated individual at the Albany County Jail on March 22 while awaiting his sentencing.
