Greene County man pleads guilty in 2025 murder case

CAIRO, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Greene County District Attorney’s Office (GCDA) announced that 23-year-old Drew White pleaded guilty to several charges in a 2025 murder case on Wednesday. White was indicted alongside two co-defendants last December.

As part of his plea, White admitted to conspiring with Rodney Pitt to murder Pitt’s father, Roger Pitt, in November 2025. According to the GCDA, the killing stemmed from two ongoing disputes involving outstanding bills and White’s relationship with Rodney Pitt’s daughter, Roger’s granddaughter, who was a minor.

White confessed that he and Rodney killed Roger, hid his remains, and scrapped a vehicle used in the murder in order to cover up evidence. The investigation was initiated after Roger was reported missing out of Cairo in late November 2025.

White pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, second-degree conspiracy, tampering with physical evidence, and concealment of a human corpse before County Court Judge Charles Tailleur on July 15. He’s slated to be sentenced on September 8, and is expected face 19 years to life in state prison…
