ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– An Albany man has been arrested for drug possession charges after a traffic stop Wednesday night. According to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Michael Russo is accused of having cocaine and methamphetamine on him during the stop.

Deputies said around 5:26 p.m., members of the Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort (SCOPE) unit were conducting a traffic stop near Menands Bridge Road and Bridge Road in Menands for a traffic violation. Upon a further investigation, Russo was allegedly found with pre-packaged drugs.
Deputies said approximately 14 grams of crack cocaine and 9 grams of methamphetamine were seized. Investigatiors said the narcotics were reportedly packaged for distribution.
Russo was charged with two counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was also giving a traffic ticket.
