6-year-old inspires Watervliet’s first dog park

WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Sometimes the biggest ideas come from the smallest voices. Just look to Watervliet, where a 6-year-old’s vision became something the entire community is now enjoying. NEWS10’s Amber Fisher met up with Nalani Jones, who showed that you’re never too young to make a difference.

6-year-old Jones and her family have been going Clinton Park for years. But last year, Nalani took action so that her best friend, her dog Remo, could join them.

“I told her we can make a difference in the community if we really tried and we really did,” said her mom, Trinity Paradis.

“We went to the mayor first,” added Jones. “Because I wanted to make it better for my pet dog. He’s playful, and he’s really nice and he’s really good with our pet cats,”…
