GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Guilderland Police announced on Friday that a New York City woman was arrested earlier this week following a fraud investigation. Anna Hardee, 47, is facing numerous charges.

Police responded to the NBT Bank branch on New Karner Road around 3 p.m. on July 29 after staff reported that a customer had tried to impersonate someone else during a transaction. Arriving officers determined that Hardee allegedly used a fraudulent New York State driver’s license containing another person’s identifying information in an attempt to take out $38,000 from the victim’s Home Equity Line of Credit account.
Amid the ensuing investigation, GPD learned that Hardee was reportedly wanted by multiple Rhode Island law enforcement agencies, leading to officers taking her into custody at the scene on Wednesday. She now faces the following charges:
- Third-degree attempted grand larceny
- First-degree identity theft
- Second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument
- Second-degree criminal impersonation
- Fugitive from justice
After being arraigned, Hardee was turned over to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office ahead of her extradition to Rhode Island.
