SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Schodack man is facing several charges after police said he purposely struck a vehicle and led police on pursuits while children were in his custody. The investigation began around 4:09 p.m. Sunday when New York State Police received a report that Shawn Latham, 30, sent text messages threatening the victim and himself.
Police responded with a be-on-the lookout (BOLO) for Latham and his vehicle due to the threat of self-harm and knowing he had two children in his custody at the time.
The victim called 911 around 6:42 p.m. to report Latham had followed their vehicle in the area of Route 9 and State Route 20 in the town of Schodack and tried to hit their vehicle with his.
