STUYVESANT — State officials said a stretch of state Route 9J that connects Columbia and Rensselaer counties will remain closed for possibly another two months after torrential rain and flooding inundated the area and destabilized a bridge.
All lanes have been closed since July 29 between Ridge Road — located just south of the town of Schodack — and Gibbons Road due to emergency maintenance and storm damage, according to the state Department of Transportation. Although the repairs had initially been projected to take a month, state officials now say the section of roadway over Mill Creek sustained heavy damage that will apparently require additional repairs.
