CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Deputies with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office seized over 400 pounds of marijuana during a Clifton Park traffic stop on Tuesday. Authorities said Kevin C. Wilbur, 46, of Brushton, and Quinton L. Carle, 23, of Bombay, are both facing a charge of first-degree criminal possession of cannabis.

Deputies stopped a car on the Northway around 2:28 p.m. for insufficient tail lamps and following too closely. After identifying Wilbur and Carle, the sheriff’s office said that further investigation uncovered 489 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.
“This was excellent police work by our deputies,” Saratoga County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Brown said. “They single-handedly prevented nearly one-quarter ton of illicit cannabis from reaching our streets and made sure that the other negatives we often see with drug trafficking will never come to fruition.”
Wilbur and Carle were arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court. Wilbur remains in Saratoga County Jail, and Carle was released on his own recognizance pending future court proceedings…
