TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Troy-based rock band was recognized by the city on Monday with an honorary street sign designation. A ceremony was held to unveil Super 400’s new street sign at the corner of River Street and Rensselaer Street.

“Super 400 Way” sits at the same location where the band began making music together over 30 years ago. The designation aims to celebrate the band’s longstanding connection to the Troy and its contributions to the local music and arts community.
City officials say that Super 400 has been an important part of Troy’s music scene for decades. The group has helped put the Collar City on the map through its distinctive sound, performances and commitment to its hometown.

At the ceremony, bandmembers shared what it means to have a foundation like Troy to support them.
“We’ve been other places in the world and we’ve thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great, maybe we’ll move here, it seems like a place we’re comfortable with.’ But we always come back to Troy and there’s a real pull to that,” said Super 400 bassist Lori Friday. “It helps give us identity and it helps give us strength, too, with the bonds that we’ve made while we’ve lived here.”…
