A New York cop is in the clink, accused of using Flock cameras to track several personal acquaintances… including her ex.

New York sheriff’s investigator Laurie Moore has been arrested, charged with using Flock cameras to dig for her ex-girlfriend’s whereabouts about 3,000 times, according to Syracuse.com. The 47-year-old 13-year veteran of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office reportedly also ran four other license plates hundreds of times.
Flock cameras, which have become a hot topic in recent months due to their overwhelming prevalence in seemingly every city across America, use AI to scan license plates. In a totally non-dystopian way, police allegedly use the security cameras’ data to track citizens… er, criminals.
Now, concerns over police potentially misusing the technology have seemingly come to pass…
