ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Capital Region trading card enthusiasts have a new spot to connect with fellow hobbyists while adding to their personal collections. Deez Cards celebrated their grand opening over the weekend in Altamont.

Located at 103 Park Street, the collectibles store offers sports cards, trading cards, and memorabilia, ranging from Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece, to baseball cards, basketball cards, and autographed football helmets. The business prides itself in being a space not just for collectors, but also for game players, sports fans, and families.
The store was founded by Jonathan Daniel “JD” Cochran, who turned to card collecting while recovering from three brain surgeries for intractable epilepsy. Cochran stated that the hobby provided him with a source of motivation and purpose during his recovery journey, developing a passion that would lead to the store’s inception.

“From a hospital bed to upstate’s hobby shop, Deez Cards is proof that passion can become a purpose,” Cochran said.
Guilderland Chamber of Commerce representatives joined local officials at Deez Cards on Tuesday morning to commemorate the opening with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The store’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, and the business is closed on Mondays…
