WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A fire that destroyed several campers at a local speedway sent one man diving out a window to escape the flames. On Monday, firefighters and New York State Police responded to a multi-camper fire at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Tim Goewey narrowly escaped with his life.

“I woke up to a loud bang. I thought it was a joke, just people hitting my bedroom and my camper. Then I heard another loud bang, which ended up being two of the tires blowing from the heat underneath it. I went to go out the door and was blown back by flames,” explained Goewey.
He has been going to the speedway since he was 10 years old, and now does marketing for the speedway.
“I went back into the master bedroom, kicked out the emergency windows, and dove out the window and crawled away,” he continued…
