TROY — Construction has started on a new development of tiny homes in Troy, meant for older adults ready to downsize.
The development got final approval in August 2025 and started construction this month. The Troy Industrial Development Authority approved about $4.7 million in tax exemptions for the project in July.
The $17 million project is at the site of the former Leonard Hospital, which was demolished in 2020, and will include 86 tiny homes ranging from 500 to 800 square feet on a parcel slightly bigger than 6 acres, which the developers bought from the city for $275,000 in 2024…
