A wise man once said never pay full price for late pizza. That is a quote that lives in my head forever, and is also practically responsible for my obsession with pizza. Thanks to growing up in the 80s and 90s and watching the Ninja Turtles I grew to love pizza from a very young age. Now that I am in my 40s I’m always searching for a place that is cooking up some of the best.
Sally D’s is making some of the best pizza that I’ve had in the area. They’ve got their traditional stuff but they’re also doing some unique styles, too. My current obsession from them is their hot honey slice. Pepperoni cups, ricotta cheese, pesto (at least I think that’s pesto), and a drizzle of hot honey to top it off.
There are a few days I’ll always remember. When my kids were born, 9/11, and when I found the Tony Soprano slice from Sally D’s.

You can find them at 1045 Community Rd, Schenectady, NY 12303. If that address is familiar it’s because they are in the former Nikki P’s location. I have to say, I loved Nikki P’s and was sad to see them close. Sally D’s is doing a fantastic job of filling the void that they left when the closed up shop…
