TROY — An Albany police officer faces six years in state prison after he pleaded guilty Thursday to felony drug possession to resolve a case that accused him of selling cocaine while off duty.
Nathan Ensel, 46, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, admitting he had four ounces of cocaine when police arrested him in January.
Ensel pleaded guilty during an appearance before Rensselaer County Judge Debra Young, who set sentencing for Nov. 16. He said little in court beyond admitting to possession of cocaine. His attorney, Adam C. Eggleston, has not yet returned a call for comment…
