ALBANY — At least one area shelter is opening its doors early due to chilly nighttime temperatures.
Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless opened its seasonal shelter, Safe Haven, on Monday, almost a month ahead of schedule.
Shelter officials said, “As overnight temperatures drop, many households have already turned on their heat at night and the need for a safe, warm place to sleep has become increasingly urgent.”
