Man charged with assault after Albany slashing

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Jaquan Williams, 32, was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and placed in Albany County Jail.

On January 6, Albany officers responded to Quail Street for reports of a stabbing. Officers located a 25-year-old man with several deep cuts on his face on the scene. He was treated by an emergency medical team on-site and then moved to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

The Criminal Investigation Unit found that Williams was the suspect in the incident. It found that Williams and the victim had a verbal altercation before the victim was slashed in the face.
