66 acres of land in Glenmont to be protected forever

GLENMONT, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Town of Bethlehem and the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC) signed an agreement ensuring that no property will be developed on the Westrock forest in Glenmont. The property includes 66 acres of mature forest.

While the MHLC owns the Westrock forest, it anticipates transferring ownership of the 66-acre stretch of land to the Bioreserve in the future. The Bioreserve is a 68-acre non-profit biological field reserve that sits adjacent to the Westrock forest and is also protected under an agreement with the town.
