ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany woman celebrated a big milestone on Wednesday. Francis Elsworth turned 100 years old on Jan. 24.

Friends and family celebrated with a party at the Desmond Hotel. Francis has lived in Albany for 76 years and said the friends she has made is the secret to her longevity.
“It’s just a wonderful place to live. They have taken me in their arms. I have just loved it,” she said. “You gotta have a base. Friends and good will towards everyone is the base of life for me.”
