Two arrested in Selkirk on robbery, kidnapping charges

SELKIRK, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two people from Selkirk were arrested following a robbery investigation, according to the Coeymans Police Department. Jason Ellsworth, 48, and Jasmine Peppin, 27, are both facing multiple charges.

On January 24, police received a report from a man stating he had been robbed at a home in Flemings Trailer Park in Selkirk after arranging to meet a woman he had met on a dating app. The victim told police that as he was getting ready to leave the residence, the woman and another man allegedly conspired to rob him, the couple reportedly pulling out a handgun and demanding cash from the victim.

In his report, the man told police he was only allowed to leave the home after giving the robbers money. The ensuing investigation identified Ellsworth and Peppin as the suspects, and police executed warrants at the home on Thursday afternoon, resulting in Ellsworth and Peppin being taken into custody.
