Selkirk Residents Arrested for Robbery and Kidnapping After Dating App Meetup

COEYMANS, N.Y. — Jasmine Peppin, 27, and Jason Ellsworth, 48, both from Selkirk, were arrested on charges of robbery and kidnapping following an incident that was arranged through a dating app.

The Coeymans Police Department reported that Peppin had organized a meeting with a man at a mobile home in the Flemings Trailer Park using a dating app. During the encounter, the victim reported that Peppin and Ellsworth held a gun to his neck and demanded money. The victim was released after complying with their demand.

The investigation led to the identification of Peppin and Ellsworth, resulting in a warrant being issued for their arrest on Thursday. Both were charged with robbery and kidnapping in connection with the incident.

The Coeymans Police, assisted by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, successfully took Peppin and Ellsworth into custody. They were subsequently sent to the Albany County Jail.
