Police arrest two men after reported theft at Target

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two suspects were taken into custody for reportedly stealing items from the Target retail store on Sunday evening. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the two fled the scene but were located traveling on Market Street shortly after the reported theft.

The two were identified as Craig Stevenson, 46, and Raheem Duncan, 30. Police recovered approximately $1414.27 worth of merchandise. Controlled substances, including crack cocaine, oxycodone pills, Xanax pills, ecstasy pills, and psilocybin mushrooms, were also located in the vehicle.

According to police, Stevenson had a magnet device that could bypass store security devices. The two were wanted for a prior larceny at the Target store on January 21. During that incident, $1169.88 worth of electronics were reported stolen.

The two face felony charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth, and fifth degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
