SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A Mayfield man was found guilty of 20 felonies and three misdemeanors, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney, and is accused of having a summer-long criminal relationship with a child under the age of 14 when he was 40 at the time. According to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office, all crimes occurred in the summer of 2021 in Schenectady. Hodgson committed physical sexual assaults on the child after grooming them.
Hodgson also had sexually explicit messages and images of his victim. The inappropriate online sexual relationship continued until September 15, 2021, when the child told their family and law enforcement that Hodgson was having a sexual relationship with them.

Hodgson was arrested after the child was interviewed. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at his house. Following his arrest, he was interviewed for nearly five hours.
