“It’s so difficult to find child care,” said RPI student Sariah Marth. The 32-year-old wears three hats: mom, wife, and soon a graduate cap when she obtains her master’s degree in Chemistry. For the mother of two elementary schoolers, finding that balance has been challenging.
“When my kids were much younger, daycare for students wasn’t really an option that we had. So, my husband had to work nights; he had to work multiple jobs in order for me to be able to attend and focus on my studies” Marth shared with NEWS10’s Zion Decoteau.
And as the President of RPI’s Student with Families Club, she’s not just thinking about her own struggles. “The biggest question a parent is going to ask when they’re considering grad school is what am I going to do with my kids?” Marth explained.
