“After 26 years of serving this amazing community, we would like to inform you that Cappies has officially been sold,” said the Durinicks. “This transaction is bittersweet.”

The Durinicks first announced Cappie’s was up for sale in June 2023. The drive-in stayed open until it closed for the season on August 13. The restaurant was founded over 65 years ago by Donna’s aunt and uncle. She and Craig took over operations in 1997.

The Durinicks went on to thank their customers, employees, vendors and the community. In June, Donna and Craig Durinick said they planned to retire to Florida after the sale.

They also wished the new owners much success. However, the new owners’ names have not been made public yet. The Durinicks did not immediately respond to NEWS10’s request for comment.
