Ravenal G. Dunbar, a 28-year-old Bronx, NY resident, was arrested by Brunswick State Police on February 4, 2024. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop on Hoosick Road in Brunswick, NY, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Dunbar was arrested under an active warrant from the Brunswick Town Court, issued on January 8, 2024.
The warrant was a result of an investigation into a fraudulent check cashed by Dunbar in September 2023. This act allegedly led to a theft of over $3,000. Dunbar faces charges of third-degree Grand Larceny and second-degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.
Dunbar was also charged with second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. These charges were added after a handgun and an illegal ammunition device were found in his possession during the arrest.
A child under 17 was in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. The child was safely handed over to a family member. Dunbar was taken to SP Brunswick for processing on the warrant and additional charges.
