Great Danes being fostered by UAlbany Great Dane

NEWS10 had the chance to meet Max and Daisy, two Great Danes who made their debut on campus at the University at Albany.  They may look healthy now, but that’s a far cry from how they were found. In fact, Max has spent most of his life locked away in a cage.  Today NEWS10 was there when he did something that most dogs don’t think twice about doing.

It’s hard to believe as a three-year-old, but Monday was the first time Max had ever gone downstairs.

Just one of many firsts these two have experienced since being saved.

“Once they got home, they got right on the couch, and they just slept for a few days. Honestly, it was a cool process,” said Kiara Seavey.

Seavey, a junior at UAlbany, along with her mother have taken on the two rescues. They tell NEWS10 fostering is something they do regularly. “Just trying to save one animal at a time. And they were in desperate need. So, we just stepped up. There was no question in our minds to go directly and get them,” said Jillian Van Alstyne.
