SPD: Amsterdam woman arrested for false bomb threat

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Schenectady Police Department (SPD) says that it arrested Shenel Rexha, 19, of Amsterdam for falsely reporting a bomb threat at River’s Casino early Tuesday morning. She was charged with the felony of falsely reporting an incident in the second degree.

SPD responded to River’s Casino Tuesday at 2:08 a.m. where officers coordinated with casino security to evacuate the hotel and the gaming floor after the reported bomb threat. Police found that the property was safe after a full search with explosive-detecting police dogs.

After investigating who made the call, police say they were able to identify the caller as Rexha. With the help of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, police were able to make the arrest.
