New weight loss procedure performed for first time in Capital Region

“I’ve had struggles with weight my entire life. I’ve tried every diet, counting calories, counting of everything,” she said. “When you don’t see results, you get really frustrated after a while. So, I gave up and this is who I am.”

That outlook changed a year and a half ago, after Maureen lost her mom suddenly, and soon after, she received a diagnosis of her own for thyroid cancer. “I started having to take my health seriously. And do whatever it took,” she explained.

Dr. Rohit Dhingra with Albany Gastroenterology Consultants and 4ward Wellness explained, “Even when they follow the rules, which is healthy eating and exercise, they may not get to their weight loss goals.”
