2 arrested after confrontation in Pownal

POWNAL, Vt. ( NEWS10 ) — Two people were arrested after a confrontation at Pine Ridge Drive in Pownal, Vermont on Thursday. William Danforth, 58, Pownal, and Nathen Susee, 34, North Bennington, each were charged.

On Thursday, around 8:58 p.m., Vermont State Police responded to Pine Ridge Drive in Pownal for a reported dispute. Police say the caller alleged Susee was on her property, trying to start a fight with her and others at the location.

After an investigation, police say Danforth fired a shot into the air during the confrontation. Both he and Susee were arrested in the incident.

Danforth charges:

  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

Susee charges:

  • Aggravated disorderly conduct
  • Unlawful trespass

Danforth was released with court-ordered conditions of release and is set to reappear in court on Friday. Susee received a citation to appear in court at a later date. Police say no one was injured in the incident.
