Two Troy men charged with weapon, fentanyl possession

TROY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Troy Police Department announced the arrest of two men from Troy after a Criminal Justice Services-funded (DCJS) investigation alongside Rensselaer County Probation Officers. Edgar Bonilla, 26, and Tramel Williams, 26, are both facing numerous charges.

On Wednesday night, law enforcement conducted home visits of current probationers in Troy in connection to an ongoing DCJS initiative. While visiting a Marshall Street home, officers found illegal drugs, leading to the issuing of a search warrant, which was executed a short time later.

During the search, police located three firearms, fentanyl, cocaine, and hallucinogens, resulting in the arrest of Bonilla and Williams, the home’s residents. The two now face the following charges:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance – intent to sell
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug
