09/07/24: Showers Taper Tonight, Cooler & Drier Sunday

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast by Meteorologist Jordan Due

Tonight is going to be a brisk night there all around! This will lead to a cool start by tomorrow morning where we are only expected to get up into the mid-60s! Expect a few showers mainly north while the rest of the Capital Region is looking to be mostly dry throughout the day.

Temperature change over the last 24 hours from 6 am-6 pm shows that Albany and other places around the Capital Region had a temperature change of about 10-20 degrees along the Hudson Valley. This was because of a very strong cold front that pushed through the area and gave us a shot of cold air for today, which will remain by tomorrow as well.

The rain will likely taper off for most places tonight, tomorrow high pressure looks to guard most of us. As that system starts to spin towards the north, we are looking to see a few showers sprinkle more in the northern Adirondacks. Other than that we are looking mostly dry and cool for Sunday!

Futurecast shows that we will become partly clear overnight tonight as the rest of the rain leaves our area. It’ll return to most places north and west of Albany by tomorrow afternoon and linger until the early evening. Expect a few isolated downpours with these showers as well, as the system in question starts to spin more towards the north by the evening. This means we will stay a bit cloudier towards tomorrow evening but the rain will be gone.
