(MENANDS, NY) The pet cemetery at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society has been the eternal resting place of beloved animals for the past 76 years. Opening in 1948, the field adjacent to the main building is home to almost 3-thousand burials. But looking at the property, you wouldn’t think it was that many. Many stones are unmarked or have sunk into the ground over the years. Others are partially covered in grass or lichen.
