ALBANY, NY ( NEWS10 ) — 1st & 10 brought the News10 Sports team to two Class B matchups on Friday night. The first was a Class B South Battle between 1-1 Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk and 1-0 Schalmont.
Ravena’s Ethan Michael-Green got the scoring started with two touchdowns in the first half. Quarterback Mason Carkner added another touchdown on the ground, as the Ravens rolled to a 21-6 win to improve to 2-0 in league play.
The other matchup featured two unbeaten teams in the North; Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley hosting Gloversville. The Huskies jumped out to a 6-0 lead after Caelan Porter linked up with Labron Hudson for a strike through the air. The Raiders responded with a kickoff return touchdown from Jordan Barnes. The Raiders turned defense into offense on a Dimagio Ferraro scoop and score, giving Mechanicville/Hoosic Valley a 13-6 lead on their way to a 31-12 win.
