SCSO: Three teens accused of stealing a car

HALFMOON, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Deputies arrested three teens on Thursday after allegedly stealing a car in Halfmoon. Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the occupants of the stolen vehicle off Saratoga Drive were ages 14, 16, and 17 and charged with third-degree possession of stolen property.

Deputies received reports of a stolen vehicle around 6:45 a.m. Later in the day, around 12:45 p.m., deputies were told the car allegedly stole gas from Stewart’s Shops on Route 9 in Halfmoon but were unsuccessful in locating it when they arrived.

Around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, deputies spotted a car matching the stolen vehicle’s description on Crescent Bridge and attempted to get the registration information. The vehicle then accelerated, the headlights were turned off, and the car passed another vehicle on the shoulder without slowing down, leading to deputies confirming it was the stolen vehicle.
