ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — According to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, two 13-year-olds were arrested for allegedly stealing a car from the city of Troy. The juveniles were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

The sheriff’s office says deputies conducted a traffic stop near Second Avenue and Putnam Street in Albany on a 2018 Kia that was reported stolen an hour prior. Deputies report that the 13-year-old driver struck two empty cars and one car with two people inside before fleeing on foot.
According to law enforcement, the juveniles were found and taken into custody. The two people who were in the car that was hit were taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation.
One of the teens was issued an appearance ticket to Albany County Probation before being released to a legal guardian. The other teen was issued an appearance ticket to Albany County Probation before being turned over to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office for an active Rensselaer County Family Court warrant.
