Pittsfield police tracked suspicious vehicle reportedly following child to school

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Pittsfield Police Department tracked down the driver who reportedly followed a child to school on Monday.

According to the Pittsfield Police Department, a student in the Conte School district reported that a suspicious vehicle appeared to be following them on their way to school. The student went to a familiar house nearby and reported what had happened.

An adult from the house snapped a picture of the vehicle and officers were able to get the registration number and traced it to a local resident. Officers have made contact with the driver and state that no evidence suggests the vehicle/driver in question was involved in criminal activity.

Police advised the driver on how their behavior was thought to have been very concerning to both the child and the community. The police department is reminding residents that investigations take time and to always report suspicious people or vehicles to their local police department.
